I talked my wife into selling our house and restoring a vintage Airstream

We live a pretty small life. As time has gone on we’ve become more and more aware of the things we buy. We were never blowing our money on things but we did spoil ourselves but we found that the things that made us the happiest were free. How did we get to restoring a vintage Airstream?

Selling our beautiful 2-story home to live in a 100 square foot 1974 Argosy Airstream¬†isn’t for everyone. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d ever convince my wife to live in a 26′ home on wheels. However, with a little encouragement and reassurance she is now excited about restoring this vintage Airstream. And it’s going to be a BIG project but could end up paying off in the end. We can sell the restored trailer or park it on a private lot near our favorite hiking area.

First thing we did was assess the situation. What works? What doesn’t? What do we need to get from IKEA?

It can get overwhelming but if you take a step back and think about the memories that this adventure will be it almost is crazy not to do it! We will learn so much by living so small and not hiding away in a huge house. This restoration will take time, patience and hard word however, we will remember this experience for the rest of our lives.

Adventure awaits.
